Auggie Shinchende is a peoples’ person. From childhood he has always loved working and interacting with others around him. Inspired by his grandmother who always helped community members and strangers alike, with food and shelter as he observed during his teens. Auggie’s love to improve other people lives grew throughout his high school years, participating in various outreach feeding and clothing programs done by the church for the needy in the rural communities. While in high school, when his family could no longer manage to support him, he was helped by several well-wishers to pay for his school fees, while some fellow students helped him with other school requirements.
This inspired him to study public health, project management and law as tools and skills that will empower him to effectively fulfill his desire to contribute to a healthy and wellbeing of others who are less privileged. For 20 years now since graduation from college, Auggie has worked with various organizations of different capacities on health and social programs addressing the needs of venerable groups such as orphans, windows, people living with HIV and youths. His selfless attributes are enabling him to work for charity, contributing his time, expertise and experience helping Wings of Love Foundation reach its vision in Zambia and beyond.
