Many of these widows are driven away from their homes by surviving relatives of the deceased, disposed of their properties and is subjected to poverty. Without skills, support or opportunities, widows and orphans often succumb to the vicious cycle of poverty.
The children that have lost both parents are either placed in the care of relatives who are struggling to take care of themselves and their families. These orphans end up being either neglected or rejected by the extended families leaving them to fend for themselves.
Kasiya village currently has 27 orphans, Wings of Love Foundation currently provides support to 10 orphans by sponsoring their schooling and providing basic needs- school fees, uniforms, books, blankets, clothes and food.
The Foundation is also currently supporting and empowering 35 widows in various skills.
The Foundation has since provided 4 sewing machines and resources for the women to engage in various projects that are being used to raise income to improve their standard of living.
With a vibrant Board, experienced and qualified ground team, a clear
vision and strategic partnerships, the Foundation is posed to make a
positive impact in communities by implementing activities
cost effectively and ensuring sustainable development.
The Foundations core values of faith in God, Integrity, Honesty, Transparency, Accountability and Commitment form a strong foundation for the success of all the programs. The Foundation is open to forming strong relationships and partnerships to ensure objectives are achieved.
